Adrenaline-Fueled Pursuit of Powerful Flats Predators on Batten Kill Road
I had a great time taking Shrunga out on the flats for some sight fishing on Batten Kill Road. We were able to spot and cast to some hefty Rainbow trout and Striped bass cruising the shallow waters. The fish were really feeding aggressively, and we had a blast watching them chase our flies across the flats.
The weather was perfect for this type of fishing, and the water conditions were ideal for spotting the fish. We used classic fly fishing techniques to stalk and present our flies to the fish, which made for an exciting and rewarding day on the water.
Even though we didn't land every fish we casted to, the thrill of the hunt and the adrenaline rush of watching these powerful fish charge our flies kept us energized and engaged throughout the trip. Sight fishing for big, wild carp is such a unique and challenging style of fly fishing, and I'm glad Shrunga was able to experience it.
